Ⓜ️ &🎙️ #171 BOOM!Elise Loehnen about healing as a grown up with MDMA & the ex-goop life Plus my next talk: Psychedelics & Creativity at Fotografiska !
NEW PODCAST!
Elise Loehnen came on the The New Health Club show during her time at GOOP. To me, she was the first wellness philosopher and she took mushrooms on the goop lab, on Netflix. Groundbreaking.
To me, she is an incredible thinker and writer. She is, also on SUBSTACK here, please check it out!
Elise storytelling resonates deeply with me. We share a journey of realizing the toll of overwork, anxiety, and the pursuit of wellness as a cure-all, only to discover the transformative power of psychedelics.
Elise's expertise in content creation was evident during her tenure as the chief content officer at goop, where she co-hosted The goop Podcast and The goop Lab on Netflix. Her role involved spearheading content strategy, including the successful launch of a magazine with Condé Nast and a book imprint. With a Bachelor's degree from Yale, majoring in English and Fine Arts, and a rich media career, Elise brings a wealth of experience to her work.
Now based in Los Angeles with her husband, Rob, and their sons, Max and Sam, Elise continues to inspire through her writing and editing. As the host of Pulling the Thread, a podcast with Cadence13, she engages cultural luminaries on pressing questions for our society in featuring notable figures like Dr. Gabor Maté and Dr. Temple Grandin.
Despite co-authoring twelve books, including five New York Times Best Sellers, Elise's latest venture, her first book under her own name, "On Our Best Behavior: The Seven Deadly Sins and the Price Women Pay to Be Good," has captured attention as an instant New York Times bestseller.
Our conversation is about…
how a (lifelong) best behavior causes anxiety & mental health problems
how MDMA therapy supported Elise in her healing journey
her transformative experiences with 5 MEO DMT
how we create a grown up way to use psychedelics for healing

By altering perception, cognition, and emotions, psychedelics unleash creative potential.
Join us as we dive into the magic world of psychedelics, exploring their current and future impact on creativity, and revisiting their revolutionary influence during the 60s and 70s - the times of The Factory and Andy Warhol.
